Barns Courtney shares emotional ballad; ‘Goodbye John Smith’

RISING STAR BARNS COURTNEY HAS REVEALED HIS LATEST TRACK ‘GOODBYE JOHN SMITH’.

In contrast to his country-rock debut track ‘Glitter & Gold’, which was released unceremoniously back in September, ‘Goodbye John Smith’ acts as a poignant piano ballad.

Exposing his deep baritone vocals, which are comparable to the likes of Nick Cave and Tom Waits, Barns Courtney’s tender tune with its emotional lyrics far surpasses his youthful age.

The London singer-songwriter, who spent much of his childhood living in Seattle, effortlessly blends his eclectic heritage, with his influences ranging from American blues-rock, hip-hop and grunge to British indie.

The Carl Barat championed singer is set for stardom with support slots to The Libertines, Ed Sheeran and Blur, spins on BBC Radio 1, inclusion on the BBC Introducing playlist and a No. 1 on the U.K. Spotify Viral Chart, with debut track ‘Glitter & Gold’.

Having already clocked up over two hundred thousand plays across Soundcloud and YouTube of his debut track, all within the span of two whirlwind months, Barns Courtney will now go on to support The Who at Wembley Arena on the 13th Feb 2016.

The following week the musician will perform a headline show at Hoxton Bar & Kitchen on the 18th Feb 2016.

The singer is also set to accelerate his exposure with scheduled shows at Euro Sonic Noorderslag and Live At Leeds 2016, alongside the release of his debut EP early next year.

BARNS COURTNEY 2016 U.K. TOUR DATES:

13th Feb – London, Wembley Arena, London (supporting The Who)
18th Feb – London, Hoxton Bar & Kitchen
